Exhibitions boost sales

21.07.2008

For the first time a large-scale jewelry show took place in Makhachkala from June 3 to 8. It was reported that more than sixty jewelry factories, companies and manufacturers coming from more than 25 regions and cities of the Russian Federation, the former USSR countries and other foreign countries had taken part in the exhibition. In the run-up to the exhibition, the Dagestanskaya Pravda published a lengthy interview with Pavel Sidorenko, Marketing Director of jewelry company Adamas, who pointed out that the exhibition “Gold of Russia 2008” solved an important task for the jewelry market – it was representing domestic manufacturing and trade jewelry enterprises in the North Caucasus Region of the Southern Federal District.
For Dagestan this exhibition was not only significant in terms of trade, but evidently was to show the stability of political situation in the North Caucasus capital. It was not by chance stressed that the main task facing its organizers was to enhance security and protection both of the exposition and that of its visitors. The republican mass media positioned Dagestan as the “jewelry center of Russia’s South” by analogy with the “jewelry capital of Russia” in Kostroma. According to Bulat Mamayev, CEO of Dagestan EXPO and organizer of the exhibition, “the jewelry show was a very important event for us. Now it is possible to say that this exhibition has taken place and “the first pancake has not been lumpy.” During these six days there were sold tens of millions roubles worth of jewelry. It should be noted that Dagestan residents briskly bought literally all adornments – from diamonds to silver and bijouterie.”

The SOUD – Sochi Exhibitions Company will hold the 8th International Specialized Fair “InterJeweler – 2008” in Sochi from July 8 to 14. The timing of the international fair is not accidental, the press service of ZAO SOUD – Sochi Exhibitions says, for this will be the peak of the holiday season, when Sochi will turn into a real southern capital of Russia.
It is reported that to attract retail buyers SOUD – Sochi Exhibitions will launch a wide-ranging advertising campaign in mass media, Internet editions, via information agencies, radio stations and TV channels, as well as by way of advertising handbills.
A jewelry lottery for exhibition visitors will be under way on a daily basis.
